A tribute to my Uncle John

Uncle John, I really don’t know where to start,
Myself along with so many others now have a broken heart.
You’ll be missed because you were kind, caring and always funny,
We’d be sitting round at Christmas and you’d spin out something witty or punny.
When it came to board games, you were always the winner,
We tried our best to compete but the wins were yours post dinner.
I always got my birthday cards late,
But it became your thing and I’d love that date.
I remember feeling so happy at yours and Julia’s celebration,
Because life gave you a chance of love and elevation.
With a shared passion for music and Eachother,
You two were the dream team, a bond like no other.
Your dedication to Brentford is one you shared,
Taking your nephew to embrace your passion was great and even the losses you bared!
You were a mighty bee and always proud,
They have lost a true supporter, a special member of the crowd.
I remember you finding out I had a mancunion boyfriend after a few beers,
You then swiftly tried the accent and gave us all so much laughter and cheers.
Memories we all have of you are something that can’t be taken away,
I only wish we didn’t have to say goodbye, that there was a way you could stay.
A member of the railway club, someone who always knew how to have fun,
And someone who loved travelling with his best friend to get some sun.
You were my mothers protector, the greatest uncle, a compassionate son and a devoted husband,
You would want us to celebrate your life, in fact you would make it a demand.
I love you uncle john, I’ll never forgot your laugh, your jokes and basically you,
If you were here you’d probably end with a joke, don’t worry I won’t attempt to.
