5 Things I have been doing on lockdown

I haven’t really known what to write about recently. It’s a weird time for everyone. It is also a really easy time to over think everything. So I have had to really take a step back everyday and think about what I could do to take my mind off all the craziness.
Jigsaw puzzles – I know this one seems obvious but my 1000 piece puzzle took 5 days, a lot of thought and worked as a great distraction. Also it is so satisfying when you put that last piece in. Tyson may have chewed the corner piece a little so it’s not perfect but I would definitely recommend!
Adult Colouring – I did this before the lockdown because it helps me massively when it comes to mindfulness and managing my anxiety. I have four different books now so the collection is growing but I love it, I am terrible at art but when it comes to drawing in the lines I would say I have quite the talent…
Sudoku/ Crosswords – How many times in life do you have the opportunity to sit back, think about nothing and do something really random like sudoku. I don’t know about you but whenever I get home from work I am too tired to focus on anything and on the weekends I want to relax completely, no thought required. So I am fully taking advantage of this strange time in life and trying to keep my mind off any uncertainties.
Setting a goal within your house/flat/room – I have been working on our spare bedroom because it hasn’t really been sorted since we moved in over a year ago.. You know that set of drawers you’ve been meaning to sort out for the past 6 months, or photo frame you wanted to hang up. Now is the time to do the things you put off because everyday life gets in the way
Baking – I think a lot of people have been giving this a go with the lack of flour in stores at the moment… So far I have made bread rolls, lemon drizzle cake and today I am going for easter cupcakes.
These are just random little things that have been passing the days for me. I think the main thing for me has been trying to focus on the positives. I am healthy, in a warm and comforting home with a cute dog and a supportive boyfriend. I am actually extremely lucky and I need to remind myself of that everyday. All we can do in a time like this is be there for our loved ones and keep colouring on!
Right, I am going to get back to trying to be down with the kids and make some videos that I find funny on tik tok….. I think the lockdown might be getting the better of my crazy side…..
