Black Lives Matter

I’ve not really known what to say,
I could never understand the struggle faced everyday.
It’s time to educate and be educated on the reality of this,
we need to hit the target, equality for all, we can’t miss.

Black lives matter, Black lives matter,
It’s time to shout this from the rooftops, not for quiet chatter.
Why would you prejudice based on the colour of skin,
Why is power abused and morality thrown to the bin.

I have more questions than answers in this time,
I’ll never know how awful it can be, respect and kindness don’t cost a dime.
Why. Why is racism still so prominent in this society,
Why is it not the normal to look through colourblind lenses, but instead to cause anxiety.

So much more needs to be done for the BLM movement,
There’s still a substantial amount of room for improvement.
Society needs to be anti-racist, to stand with those who have a struggle they will never know.
So I stand with Black Lives Matter, so should you, let it show.
